Southeast Asia Property Awards 2012 Winners Revealed

The 2nd annual South East Asia Property Awards 2012 winners were revealed at a gala dinner event at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. Over 370 guests from around the region – including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia and Indonesia – were in attendance to congratulate the winners and highly commended companies in 35 award categories including developer, development, real estate service, architecture and interior design, plus a publisher’s choice award, the ‘Property Report Real Estate Personality of the Year’ award that went to Mr. Jose E. B. Antonio, chief executive officer of Philippines-based Century Properties Group Inc.

“Congratulations to all the winners. We have seen some real world beating developments awarded here this evening that really represent the full gamut of what South East Asia real estate has to offer,” said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media, the organisers of the event.

Over 1,400 nominations were received and from those, over 300 entries, with the most hotly contested categories the Best Condominium awards for both Singapore and Malaysia.

“From a homegrown brand such as the Banyan Tree triumphing as the best in South East Asia, to Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt and St. Regis branded residences all walking away Winners, to the successes of the River and the Residences, Putra Heights from major players and great wins for boutique developments like Mont Timah, the awards have really demonstrated the diversity of luxury real estate on offer in the region,” he added.

New award categories this year included the expansion of the design awards to recognise Hotel Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Best Consultancy categories were also introduced to cover all major markets.

“It was also great to see the consultancies getting recognition this year – these companies provide invaluable data and really help drive sales across the region and internationally and the winners tonight really represent the best in the business,” said Blackburn.
