Day 2 of Asia Real Estate Summit 2019: Embracing proptech and its potential perils

The PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit 2019 rounded up industry leaders on its last day to talk about the future of property technology in Asia, along with its potential perils.
Google’s Head of Agency & Performance in Thailand Kim Rellinger launched the series of talks for the day with a keynote address on advancements in machine learning and digital technology developed to assist, augment, and accelerate the daily lives of people.
Leading the panel for the dangers of smart tech is BDO co-managing partner in Thailand Paul Ashburn, with Jittida Haputpong, vice president of business development of igloohome and Raj Kumar Gupta, chief technology officer, VOV, and exclusive partner of tēmi as panellists.
To conclude the session, Ashburn advised users to conduct due diligence when dealing with the cyber world, such as setting up a firewall, creating unique passwords, and installing security software.

Co-founder of BrandNow.Asia Pacharee Pantoomano moderated the next discussion where they took a brief look into the next generation of real estate businesses.
Chief technology officer Manav Kamboj, Fastkey general manager Sheldon Fernandez, and director of product management Vivek Kuman — all innovator’s from the region’s leading property technology company PropertyGuru comprised the panel for this session.
The last panel at the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit 2019 tackled digitalisation and automation of real estate transactions, with ComplianceAsia chief executive officer and founder Philippa Allen as the mediator.
Co-founder and chief operating officer of FinFabrik, Dr. Florian M. Spiegl, Taiger’s senior vice president of business development Henri-Christian Hartloff, and Senior associate of DFDL Thailand and Vietnam Paul Volodarsky emphasised the efficiency fintech can deliver to both consumers and businesses alike.
To cap off the successful two-day conference and honour the innovators of today, chief technology officer Manav Kamboj announced Sensgreen as the recipient for this year’s PropertyGuru Tech Innovation Award.
The first ever recipient of the Proptech Visionary of the Year award went to the life-changing robot tēmi, who personally accepted the trophy on behalf of founder and chief executive officer Yossi Wolf. His passion for helping the elderly through connected technology has resonated with the judges, thereby honouring him for his innovative work in improving the quality of life as we know it.
