New categories

An independent panel of judges will evaluate and inspect the entries during a fair, transparent, credible selection process supervised by HLB International Real Estate Group, the global advisory honoured as the “2024 Network of the Year,” with oversight from Chanthorng Kit of HLB Cambodia.

Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, said: “As we launch the 10th edition of our awards programme in Cambodia, we acknowledge the resilience of the country’s property market, which continues to turn challenges into opportunities. Buoyed by infrastructural improvements, the Cambodian property sector has harnessed its potential to offer a diverse range of developments, from large-scale riverside townships to world-class, eco-conscious projects. Over the past decade, the awards have expanded to match the wide range of properties entering the market, honouring real estate that excels in quality and sustainability—a focus that continues this year with the introduction of new categories. We’re excited to see who will raise the standards of Khmer real estate as the market continues to grow and diversify.”

Encouraging foreign investment

Cambodia has encouraged foreign investment to stimulate its property sector, experts tell Property Report by PropertyGuru, the official magazine of the Awards. Recent regulatory reforms have made it easier for overseas investors to acquire property and participate in large-scale developments. New policies offer generous incentives, such as duty-free ownership transfers and flexible tax payment schemes.

Property markets with well-developed transportation infrastructure and strong potential for quick returns or high profits show significant promise in Cambodia, experts add. The coastal province of Preah Sihanouk especially stands out, with rapid growth anticipated in the coming years.

Oknha Sorn Seap, chairperson of the independent panel of judges and president of Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA), said: “In this 10th edition of our awards programme, we engage Cambodia’s leading developers and design firms to benchmark excellence in the kingdom’s real estate sector. Alongside the awards, the sector has advanced to the forefront of property development over the years. From advancements in residential architecture to sustainable design, Cambodian real estate continues to set and abide by high standards, generating industry recognition both locally and internationally—an upward trajectory that will only continue in 2025.”

20th edition

Established in 2016, the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards are part of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series, which started in 2005. The series will celebrate its 20th edition in 2025, with a presence now spanning 13 countries across Asia and beyond.

Winners of this year’s Awards may qualify for the 20th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok in December 2025. Last year, LP Residences Co., Ltd. from Cambodia joined the Grand Final’s prestigious Best in Asia winners, thanks to its Palm Springs project.
