6th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards programme launches exciting 2021 timeline and broadcast platforms

Cambodia’s most prestigious real estate awards programme officially enters its sixth year with the announcement of the timeline for the 2021 PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards, supported by returning silver sponsor Jotun.

Upholding the ‘Gold Standard’ in the industry, the 6th Annual PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards programme has opened its call for the most outstanding developers and projects in the kingdom. The programme will culminate with the announcement of Cambodia’s best and winning developers and projects on 3 September 2021, in an exclusive black-tie gala dinner and awards presentation at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra in the historic Old Quarter of Phnom Penh.

Key dates for the 2021 edition: 

  • 1 January 2021 – Entries Open
  • 9 July 2021 – Entries Close
  • 19 July-6 August 2021 – Site Inspections
  • 11 August 2021 – Final Judging
  • 3 September 2021 – Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony in Phnom Penh
  • 9 December 2021 – Regional Grand Final Gala Event in Bangkok, Thailand

Open categories include accolades for the best Developer, Development, and Design, along with a few Special Recognition honours. New accolades in 2021 include Best Completed Condo Development, Best Completed Housing Development, and Best Completed Commercial Development.

The 6th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards gala night will premiere simultaneously on the same day on AsiaPropertyAwards.com/tv-podcast and the official channels on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. In 2020, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards online gala series, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, was viewed more than 516,000 times and reached viewers and property investors in more than 75 countries worldwide. This year, highlights of the Cambodia gala event will air on the History Channel, the Official Cable TV Partner of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, reaching even more international audiences.

Best in Asia

After the Phnom Penh gala night, top winners of the 6th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards will be eligible to compete for the “Best in Asia” honours at the 16th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final to be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, 9 December. The finale will be preceded by the 2021 edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit, the tech and thought leadership platform of PropertyGuru Group.

Cambodia garnered two regional wins at the 15th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final 2020, among them Urban Village and Factory Phnom Penh by Urban Hub (Cambodia) Co., Ltd for Best Co-Working Space (Asia).

Catherine Chan, Founder & Executive Director of Urban Village & Factory Phnom Penh, joined the virtual media roundtable for the 6th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards 2021, which aired live via Zoom on 11 March. Jaclyn Chua, BOD Representative of Meridian International Holding, winner of the Best Developer (Cambodia) award in 2020, also spoke during the online event about the impact of winning at the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards.

PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards chair Sorn Seap, founder and director of Key Real Estate Co., Ltd, and Thida Ann, formerly of CBRE Cambodia, and long-time judge of the Awards, were also present to discuss the celebrated history and credibility of the programme.

A new era

Both joining remotely from Bangkok were Jules Kay, managing director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, and Paul Ashburn, ASPAC Leader of HLB Real Estate Group, the Official Supervisor of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

This week’s virtual media briefing provided a market update on Cambodia real estate, featuring expert insights and outlook on the property sector in the Covid-19 era. Speakers also gave a review of the market for mixed-use developments and tackled the future of the co-working spaces in the kingdom.

Last year’s edition of the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards was one of its most unique yet, staged according to prevailing health and safety protocols in Phnom Penh. More than 30 golden trophies and nearly 25 Highly Commended distinctions were presented to almost a dozen companies, representing the finest development firms and projects in the nation.
