The best of Chinese territories honoured at the 2019 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau)

Well-rounded laurels for properties in the PRC, Greater Bay Area, Southwest China, and Special Administrative Regions

• Three companies named Best Developer in respective Chinese regions, including the Greater Bay Area
• Hong Kong developer Henderson Land emerges triumphant with six wins and two citations, the most of any company
• Winning companies move on to score regional gongs at PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final

BANGKOK — 22 November 2019

The developers and designers transforming one of the world’s most vigorous real estate markets were extolled at the 2019 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau), presented in association with Anjuke, part of leading Chinese online marketplace 58.com, at The Athenee Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok in Thailand.

The Awards diversified its honours this year in the Chinese territories with 36 well-rounded categories representing not just the People’s Republic of China (PRC) but also the increasingly dynamic Greater Bay Area, Southwest China, and special administrative regions (SAR).

In an exclusive ceremony, R&F Group was revealed as Best Developer (Mainland China) while HKR International Limited won Best Developer (Hong Kong). A new honour, Best Developer (Greater Bay Area), was handed to Huafa Industrial Share Co., Ltd. Zhuhai, which also won Best Mixed Use Development (Mainland China); Best Retail Development (Mainland China); and Best Condo Development (Greater Bay Area).

Henderson Land Development Company Limited lorded over the Hong Kong categories with six wins and two Highly Commended citations – the most of any company at the ceremony. The Hong Kong development giant gained gongs for the Square Mile – Tai Kok Tsui Urban Renewal project; the office development 218 Electric Road; and boutique condominium project One Artlane Twin Towers.

Architecture firm LWK + PARTNERS won thrice in the Hong Kong design categories for Tsuen Wan Sports Centre.

SM Shopping Center (Chengdu) Co, Ltd. dominated the Southwest China categories with two wins for its residential development SM Jin Yue Fu. The property gained Highly Commended citations in both the Mainland China and Southwest China categories.

Prize-winning shopping centres Zhuhai Jinwan Huafa Mall by Huafa Industrial Share Co., Ltd. Zhuhai and Qingpu Wanda Mall by Shanghai Qingpu Wanda Mall Investment Co., Ltd. would move on to win the regional retail categories at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final held later that evening. Other big Chinese winners that went on to gain regional titles at the Grand Final included Dukes Place by Couture Homes Properties Limited, Grosvenor Asia Pacific and Asia Standard International Group Limited; Soochow Birthmark, Suzhou, China by MOMA & HZS Design; and The Executive Centre – Level 38 CTF Finance Centre Guangzhou China by The Executive Centre.

The Special Recognition in CSR (Mainland China) was given to development titan China Vanke Co., Ltd, which had won the title of Best Developer (China) in 2018.

Rated one of the most popular destinations for Chinese property seekers, Thailand was the apt setting for this year’s PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau). The Awards will connect Chinese buyers and investors to the fast-growing property markets of Asia Pacific.

Lu Lin, Chairman of the Board, Cura Investment & Management Co., Ltd., serves as chairperson of the judges for the Mainland China awards. A central panel of judges supported him in deliberations: Chen Jinsong, Founder and Chairman of World Union Group Inc.; Liu Hongyu, Director of the Institute of Real Estate Studies and Associate Director of the Institute for China Sustainable Urbanization at Tsinghua University; Mike Chan, Head of Property and Asset Management at JLL in Shenzhen; Sun Yigong, Chairman, Tospur Real Estate Consulting Co., Ltd.; and Xu Jun, MRICS，MAI，MHKIS, Senior Real Estate Appraiser, Senior Land Appraiser, and Senior Engineer.

Paul Tse, President of the Board of Directors of the Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers, returned this year as chairperson of the Hong Kong and Macau awards. He was supported by judges Bernie Devine, Regional Director for Asia at Yardi Systems, Inc.; Gregory Ku, Managing Director of Jones Lang Lasalle Macau & Zhuhai; Jimmy Wardhana, Co-Founder and Principal of JWCC Architecture; Sr Yew Yat-ming, Edmond, Chairman, Planning and Development Division Member, Surveyor Registration Board Member, Disciplinary Panel, The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors; Vincent Cheung, Founder and Managing Director of Vincorn Consulting and Appraisal Limited; and Yu Kam Hung, Past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.
