The 10th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards pushes through with an in-person gala
The awards series celebrated its 10th year at Fairmont Makati last 7 October 2022
The PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards celebrated its 10th year in person at the Fairmont Makati main ballroom last Friday, 7 October 2022. This is the second event of the awards series in celebration of the achievements of the best developments and designs the world has seen.
A heavenly four-course meal was served after the opening remarks, starting with a baby romaine caesar salad with cajun shrimp, Parmigiano Regianno, and marinated anchovies. This was followed by smoked tomato soup with basil and cheddar cheese souffle.
The main dish was the decadent beef burgundy with caramelized shallots and red wine glaze served with mashed potatoes. Dinner was topped off with dark chocolate earl grey cake with caramel sauce.
Sixty-two categories were presented during the event, including new ones such as the Best Operational Office Portfolio, which was awarded to Megaworld Hotels & Resorts; Best Branded Residential Development, awarded to The Residences at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort by AppleOne Mactan, Inc.; Best Connectivity Condo Development (Vertex Central by Priland Development Corporation); Best Eco Friendly Commercial Development (Site of the Future – Acienda Silang by Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation); Best Eco Friendly Housing Development (Ameria by Damosa Land, Inc); Best Integrated Work From Home Development [Ice Tower Residential-Offices by SM Development Corporation (SMDC)]; and Best Memorial Park Landscape Architectural Design (Golden Haven Memorial Park – Cebu by Golden Haven Memorial Park, Inc.).
Best Developer, the most sought-after award of the night, went to Robinsons Land, one of nine winning titles for the company. Robinsons Land also received the Best Developer (Luzon) award and the Special Recognition in ESG, as well as diverse awards for such projects as Bridgetowne Destination Estate, Forbes Estates Lipa, Montclair Industrial Park, and work.able Exxa-Zeta Center.
Richard Allan Aquino, the senior editor of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine, presented the 2022 Philippines Real Estate Personality of the Year award, saying that the recipient, “is at the forefront of inclusivity and female empowerment.”
He added that the awardee, along with her mother, “have paved the way for women leaders in the industry, producing a formidable team that have been recognised internationally as one of the top 10 women-led firms in the globe, with the highest percentages of women in its Board of Directors at 50 percent.”
Lourdes Josephine Gotianun Yap, the President and CEO of Filinvest Development Corporation, accepted the Philippines Real Estate Personality of the Year award, making her the first woman in the country to receive this special honour.

The awards ceremony ended with the awardees on the stage for the annual group photo. Confetti spilled onto the stage, signifying the end of the 10th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards.
The major winners of the 10th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards will compete for the “Best in Asia” regional awards at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok on 9 December 2022.
