PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards Reception celebrates the Gold Standard-bearers of the 6th edition
Dignitaries of Khmer real estate were invited to the exclusive, in-person gathering to honour industry achievements
In a matter of two years, the landscape of the Khmer real estate sector has shifted drastically, from conducting its operations physically to moving its day-to-day online.
Technology has been, without a doubt, a crucial tool for the industry, but the strength and resilience its leaders displayed throughout such an extraordinary time is unlike any other. Despite challenge after challenge disrupting their businesses, they remained committed in their drive to produce quality developments.
As the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards hosted its 6th edition in November 2021, we set out to honour their accomplishments in a virtual celebration, garnering over 30,000 viewers from all over the globe. Yet, the festivities were far from over.
On Wednesday, 23 February 2022, the organisers invited the best and brightest of Khmer real estate to an intimate, in-person reception at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra as an extension of the programme.
To ensure the safety of everyone, each developer was permitted to have up to four representatives to ensure social distancing and avoid overcrowding at the event. All guests, including the hotel staff and production team, were also required to show proof of vaccinations, take antigen tests prior to the event, wear masks throughout the night, and practice caution.
The reception commenced with registration and pre-dinner drinks, followed by the awards presentation led by Cham Nou Jimmy as the Master of Ceremonies. All guests present, doning their finest ensembles, were then treated to a short video presentation produced by the organisers, showcasing the highlights at the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards 2021.
On behalf of the independent judging panel, Chairperson Sorn Seap proceeded with a warm welcome message.
The hotel staff then served a scrumptious four-course meal of smoked salmon carpaccio for appetizer, green pea and smoked ham soup, pan-seared chicken breast for main course, and lemon panna cotta for dessert.
Around 45 minutes later, emcee Jimmy announced the start of the awards presentation, handing over the stage to seven leading developers.
Among the major honours presented was for Catherine Chan, founder and executive director of Urban Village & Factory Phnom Penh, chosen by the PropertyGuru Property Report Editors as the first female Real Estate Personality of the Year in Cambodia.
Urbanland, the Best Developer 2021 and winner of six other categories, also graced us with their presence.
Joining the emcee onstage to grant the trophies to the winners and Highly Commended awardees were Jury Chairperson Sorn Seap, 2021 Silver Sponsor Jotun’s Sales Manager Piseth Song, and Awards’ Head of Brand & Marketing Services Richard Allan Aquino.
Representatives of the award-winning developers, sponsors, and judges were then invited to gather at the backdrop to take a group photo, capping off the night in true PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards fashion.
