Legendary names of the 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards honoured at exclusive Reception
In light of the improving situation in the Kingdom, the organisers hosted a safe, intimate gathering to pay homage to the strength of the industry and its leaders
Throughout the onslaught of the pandemic, Thailand real estate was prompted to do a complete one-eighty, swiftly embracing digital solutions to weather the new environment. Yet despite transforming proven, years-old processes that relied on in-person operations, the industry has displayed extraordinary resilience, overcoming new challenges, whilst pushing for premium quality developments that meet users’ changing needs.
In December 2021, we organised a virtual presentation of our longest-running real estate awards programme, the 16th annual PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, where we commended the most impressive developments and designs, and the masterminds behind them, showcasing their impressive achievements to over 26,000 viewers from across the globe.
Now, as the situation progresses across the country, we have invited the Gold Standard-bearers of 2021 to a safe, exclusive gathering at the Pimarn Siam Hall, 29th floor of The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok on Wednesday, 9 March 2022.
To ensure that we conduct a worry-free celebration and to prevent overcrowding at the venue, all developers were asked to have a maximum of four representatives to join the gala. Everyone present at the reception, including the hotel staff and production team, were also requested to show proof of vaccinations, take antigen tests prior to the event, and wear masks throughout the evening.
The registration opened at 6PM BKK time, followed by the reception introduction an hour later. The Master of Ceremonies for the night, (Bee) Supapij Xoomsai Na Ayudhya, welcomed guests who were all donning their best suits and gowns. Shortly after, a special video presentation showing the highlights at the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 2021 was featured on screen.
To officially kick off the celebration, the Managing Director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards & Events and our gracious host for the evening, Jules Kay, gave his welcoming remarks, praising “Thailand’s most outstanding property developers, developments and designs.” and applauding “the companies that have faced the many challenges presented by the pandemic, pushing ahead with residential and commercial real estate projects to continually raise the standard in Thailand’s diverse and appealing property sector.”
He also acknowledged our partners for the 2022 gala, stating: “Here in Thailand, our DDproperty portal showcases the full spectrum of opportunities available to buyers and renters, while a more recent addition the team, Think of Living, provides real estate reviews of all projects across the country to help buyers make better, more informed decisions. We are proud to have DDproperty and Think of Living as partners for the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards this year.”
Though our official Media Partner Think of Living was unable to join us at the reception, General Manager (Dave) Wittaya Apirakviriya shared this message: “Thai developers have beat the odds during the outbreak, and now, we have started to witness the strong recovery of the sector in 2022, all thanks to you. As the official Media Partner for the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, we are in awe of your strength and offer our most heartfelt congratulations to the 2021 winners for continuing to uphold the Gold Standard in real estate.”
The Chairperson of the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards Judging Panel and the Chairperson of JLL Thailand Suphin Mechuchep also shared her congratulatory message shortly after.
By 715PM, guests were treated to a delectable four-course Western dinner menu, comprising of grilled Andaman tiger prawn as appetizer, pumpkin-ginger soup, roasted duck breast as main course, and chocolate lemon cream with butter crumble as dessert.
Roughly 40 minutes later, emcee Bee announced the commencement of the awards presentation, handing over the stage to 29 prominent developers.
Among the major honours granted that night was for Lucky Living Properties Co., Ltd. which achieved the most number of wins in 2021, nabbing four wins and two Highly Commended titles.
Sansiri Public Company Limited, which accomplished the ultimate success by claiming the prestigious Best Developer 2021 title, also graced us with its presence.
In between the presentations, Gold Sponsors JLL, IHI, and Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana shared special clips with our guests.
Joining the stage alongside our emcee to present the awards to the winners and Highly Commended recipients were Awards’ host Jules Kay; Portal Partner DDproperty’s Country Manager Kamolpat Swaengkit; Official Supervisor HLB Thailand’s Partner Paul Ashburn; Jury Chairperson Suphin Mechuchep; Jury Members Marciano Birjmohun, Dr. Phongthon Tharachai, Dr. Chaivut Saengaram, Precha Suphapetiporn, and Chaiyuth Pete Thirangoon; and 2021 Sponsors’ representatives Thanit Prajakvinaibodee of Bathic (Bronze Sponsor), Michael Glancy of JLL (Gold Sponsor), Naoya Hagita of IHI (Gold Sponsor), and Arthit Potivorakun of Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana (Gold Sponsor).
Kamolpat Swaengkit, the country manager of DDproperty, was then once again called up on stage to give the closing remarks.
To cap off the exciting night, the organisers then asked the representatives of the award-winning developers, sponsors, and judges to revive a time-honoured tradition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards – the iconic group photo.
And before they could bid their farewells, the emcee asked all guests to proceed to The View Bar on the 4th floor for the afterparty.
