Distinguished developers grace the 6th PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards in their finest ensembles, paired with fashion-forward face masks
With safety as the number one priority, guests and staff abide by health precautions mandated by the local government
For the 6th annual PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards, select VIPs and press were exclusively invited to celebrate the various achievements of the dignitaries of the real estate industry at the grand ballroom of InterContinental Saigon on 9th October.
Set in the midst of an outbreak, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards team have made it a priority to minimise guests’ risk of infection, from mandating the wearing of face masks to distributing hand sanitisers across the venue to abiding by all necessary health protocols.
This year, our team wanted to provide a safe retreat for guests, whilst bringing back the spotlight to the leaders who have been relentless in their pursuit to build a better tomorrow for the country and its citizens.
With their finest tux and gowns on — and face masks ready at hand — guests found a welcome respite from the grim reality waiting outdoors as they immerse themselves in the night’s festivities, with dinner, drinks and conversation with like-minded peers at their disposal.
For three hours, 49 awards were presented to exemplary developers all the way from northern to southern Vietnam.
Gamuda Land Vietnam, which garnered eight of its 12 nominations, seized the highest accolade of the night: the Best Developer title. Celadon City in Ho Chi Minh, their most outstanding project to date, won the Best Masterplan Design category.
Among the other big winners of the night were SonKim Land Corporation with eight wins, including the Best Boutique Developer award; Kita Group Corporation Joint Stock Company with three awards, including the honour for Best Breakthrough Developer; Ecopark Corporation Joint Stock Company with five recognitions, including Best Mixed Use Developer; Masterise Homes with six accolades, including Best High End Condo Development (Hanoi) and (HCMC); and last year’s Best Developer titleholder Kien A Corporation which won all of its eight nominations, including Best Lifestyle Developer.
For the 2020 Real Estate Personality of the Year, one of the most prestigious titles of the night exclusively selected by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report, the official magazine of Asia Property Awards, the country’s first and biggest billionaire Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong took home the crown.
“After finding success with an instant-noodle business in Europe, Vuong established one of Vietnam’s biggest property development companies and turned it into the country’s largest private conglomerate, Vingroup. A true builder of skylines, Vuong led Vingroup to develop Landmark 81, the country’s tallest building,” said the editors.
His exemplary achievements in the industry have enabled him to become a household name in the country.
Leading the prestigious night as masters of ceremonies were Thien Vu and Thanh Giang, who were consistent in engaging the audience during the entirety of the programme.
Throughout the gala, platinum sponsor Kohler, official charity partner Right To Play and official ESG partner Baan Dek Foundation shared inspiring video messages which helped keep the audience enraptured.
To cap off the night’s festivities in true PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards style, the winners and highly commended awardees of the 6th PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards were all invited on stage to partake in the yearly group photo, with colourful confetti drizzling at the exact moment the photographer captures their relief, delight and excitement, showcasing the strength and endurance of Vietnam real estate throughout these unprecedented times.
