Frasers Property to roll out UV-disinfecting mobile robots in alliance with PBA Group
The multi-national company is set to be the first mall operator in Singapore to implement such a state-of-the-art solution

A press release published by Frasers Property on Thursday revealed that they have partnered with PBA Group to introduce UV-disinfecting autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) called Sunburst UV Bots in NorthPoint City in May, positioning themselves to be the first operator in Singapore to implement this technology.
“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, it is critical for us to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our staff, tenants and shoppers. The deployment of the AMRs at our malls will enable us to step up our efforts to protect the communities we operate in and relieve the manpower resources on labour-intensive cleaning tasks,” said Low Chee Wah, chief executive officer of Frasers Property Retail.
He also added that they are planning to gradually implement this technology in their 13 other malls in the country, taking advantage of technology and automation to boost their operational efficiency in the midst pandemic.
The AMRs by PBA Group is the first mobile robot devised and built using proprietary technology. These bots are manufactured with an ultraviolent-C light module, which diffuse robust UV-C rays that can eliminate viruses.
The disinfecting process is automated so there will be minimal need for manpower. The data retrieved from the built-in sensors, cameras and software will enable the bots to identify, operate and adjust to environmental changes, as well as analyse and identify the most efficient routes.

“We are proud to be working with Frasers Property and this will help us to achieve our goals in combatting the virus by rolling out the Sunburst UV Bots to shopping malls first, before moving into other sectors islandwide,” he concluded.
