Retail powerhouse Chadatip Chutrakul named Thailand’s Real Estate Personality

Her leadership at Siam Piwat has turned Bangkok’s landmarks into global icons of retail, culture, and design

Khun Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat Group, will be crowned the Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year at the 20th anniversary celebration of the PropertgyGuru Thailand Property Awards on 12 September 2025. The distinction recognises her exceptional leadership in shaping Bangkok’s commercial landscape and redefining retail development in the region. 

Transforming Bangkok’s landmarks 

As the driving force behind Siam Piwat Group, Khun Chutrakul has overseen the development and management of some of the capital’s most acclaimed commercial destinations, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM, and Siam Premium Outlets. These projects have not only elevated Bangkok’s position as a global retail hub but also set new benchmarks for design, innovation, and customer experience. 

Her leadership has guided Siam Piwat’s growth into a network of 50 affiliates, expanding into specialty retail, high-end dining, department stores, and facility management. The company’s developments are consistently recognised among the world’s best, reflecting a blend of visionary strategy and creative execution. 

Global recognition and awards 

The properties under her stewardship have earned international accolades. Siam Paragon was ranked sixth globally as one of the most checked-in destinations on Facebook in 2015. Siam Center received the ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Center Award for Outstanding Design in 2014, while Siam Discovery claimed the 2017 World Retail Award for Best Store Design and the 2018 ICSC VIVA Award for Design and Development. 

ICONSIAM has been celebrated with multiple distinctions, including Best Store Design at the 2019 World Retail Awards and the 2020 ICSC VIVA Best-of-the-Best Award. These achievements cement Siam Piwat’s reputation as a pioneer in world-class retail environments. 

A champion of women and leadership 

Khun Chutrakul’s impact extends beyond her company. She was the first Thai woman inducted into the World Retail Hall of Fame in 2019 and has been consistently recognised by international institutions. She appeared in Forbes Asia’s Top 50 Power Women list for three consecutive years and was named one of Fortune’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia in 2024. 

Her leadership has also been recognised through the Asian Women Leadership Award by China Daily and Asia News Network, the AWEN Outstanding Asian Women Entrepreneur Award, and the AREA Responsible Business Leadership Award. 

Serving the nation  

Beyond her corporate achievements, Khun Chutrakul plays an active role in shaping Thailand’s soft power and national identity. She serves as Director of the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, Chairman of the Steering Subcommittee on Festival, advisor to the Thai Chamber of Commerce, member of the Social Capital Corridor Steering Committee, and committee member of the National Identity Foundation.

The Real Estate Personality of the Year honour underscores Khun Chadatip’s profound contributions to Thailand’s retail and real estate industries. Through her vision and leadership, she continues to drive innovation, foster cultural identity, and position Bangkok as a destination of global significance.
