Winning developers of Asia Property Awards (Australia) encourage citizens to #StayHome in the wake of the pandemic

Their call to action has, in a way, helped the nation recover, which has now started to ease lockdown restrictions

In mid-January, when Chinese authorities revealed that COVID-19 can be transmitted from person-to-person, Australia immediately increased their border measures, according to The Guardian. They began flagging visitors from Wuhan to Sydney and subjected them to undergo biosecurity protocols, checking whether they had the symptoms.

By 24th of January, all flights coming to and from the Hubei province of China was discontinued. A day after, Australia recorded its first confirmed case from a man who travelled to Wuhan, where the virus originated.

As the number of cases escalated inside the country, the federal government implemented stricter measures that were also enforced across the globe, from self-quarantining for 14 days to distributing face masks to primary health workers. They also planned to evacuate some of their citizens who were in Wuhan and the surrounding province to be quarantined on Christmas Island.

Local authorities also distributed a stimulus package, enforced contact tracing, closed borders, mandated everyone to social distance and ordered public venues to close, such as gyms, bars and restaurants. All these measures have helped the country successfully flatten the curve.

Private institutions have even taken the responsibility of reminding the public on the importance of following the guidelines set by the government. The winning developers of Asia Property Awards (Australia) are among those who have decided to show their support.

As their way of providing relief to consumers who are anxious about their future whilst self-isolating, Weston Property Developments Pty Ltd organised a free live webinar to share their insights regarding the properties in Australia, as well as investment opportunities during the crisis. They received the Best Villa Development (Western Australia) award at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) 2019.

Meanwhile, Crown Group, the Best Condo Development (Australia) winner at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) 2018, have been giving their customers inspiration throughout the outbreak, from providing tips on how to make the most out of their homes during isolation to encouraging the use of COVIDSafe app for contact tracing.

On 10th of June, the land down under recorded 7,267 total confirmed cases, 102 casualties and only 445 active cases left. The authorities have now started easing lockdown restrictions to help restart the economy. Yet, the success of the country in containing the virus wouldn’t have been possible without the measures introduced by the government and the support from private entities, including the winners of Asia Property Awards (Australia).
