Thai developers achieve new industry breakthroughs at 15th edition of PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards

In spite of 2020’s hindrance, the kingdom’s finest in real estate triumphed the night at Thailand’s longest-running real estate awards programme

On the 18th of November, Thailand’s most prestigious in real estate, along with exclusive VIPs and press, were brought together at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok for the milestone 15th edition of the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards.

The esteemed awards ceremony returned amidst the pandemic to honour the kingdom’s most prestigious property developers, developments, and designs. The eminently anticipated black-tie gala event was a breather from 2020’s unmatched events, for everyone to jazz up, along with dining and drinking the night away.

The ballroom was electrified with inspiration and excitement, as participants gathered safely by virtue of the implemented health and safety precautions.

In addition to the actual gala event, PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards also achieved another milestone in holding their first-ever virtual episode, broadcasting the ceremony across multiple channels to viewers all over the world. On November 27th, the first-ever virtual gala engaged 6,300 viewers across Asia Pacific and beyond.

A total of 30 shortlisted companies, representing elite development companies and projects across the Kingdom of Thailand, contended to victor the 53 awards across 44 categories. Origin Property Public Company Limited emerged triumphant on the night and took home the aspired Best Developer accolade, in addition to three other awards, including the Best Luxury Condo Development (Bangkok) award for Park Origin Phayathai.

Another highlight of the night was the coveted Real Estate Personality of the Year title, exclusively selected by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine. Dr. Prateep Tangmatitham, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Supalai Public Company took the stage to receive the special title that acknowledged his four-decade-long contribution to Thailand’s real estate sector.

As stated by the editors, “over the years, generations of Thais have come to expect a high quality of residential products from Supalai, which literally means “Superior Living Place” or “Good House”. To date, the company has built more than 200 residential projects in a comprehensive range of typologies, from single-detached homes to twin homes, townhouses and condominiums, driven by a desire to develop new living innovations and elevate people’s quality of life.”

“Under his leadership, Supalai has boldly gone where not many developers have gone before. Supalai was one of the first developers to venture into underserved provincial markets outside metropolitan Bangkok. In recent years, the company has grown on a truly international scale: pouring investments into Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other rapidly growing economies across Asia Pacific,” they added.

To charm the audience at this year’s event, Piyawat Kempetch (PK) and Elizabeth Sadler were invited to exhilarate the ballroom. Their captivating charismas unquestionably kept the audience entertained throughout the whole programme.

There is no better way to end a PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards ceremony than inviting all the winners of the 15th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards to the stage for an annual group photo, fulfilled with blasts of confetti and ovation, designating an upturn for Thailand’s property industry from the dusts of the pandemic.
