PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards to implement best practices for health and safety in 2020

Highly anticipated real estate events of the year to carry out health measures reducing spread of novel coronavirus

  • Asia’s leading real estate awards programme to follow operational practices set by WHO to prevent transmission of COVID-19
  • Healthcare protocols also cover recent media events in Colombo and Bangkok

BANGKOK, Thailand –– 10 March 2020

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series will be implementing precautionary health measures in 2020 to curb the transmission of the novel coronavirus, which leads to the illness also known as COVID-19.

Asia’s leading real estate awards programme will enforce good hygiene practices and conduct preventative checks and surveillance for its series of events this year, in keeping with guidelines set by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

All the hotels selected to host Asia Property Awards gala presentations this year have increased hygiene, cleaning and disinfection routines. They will also provide guests with easy access to hand sanitisers at the main entrance or point of registration, as well as in common and dining areas. Other measures include quick temperature checks for all guests upon entering the premises, as well as for the event organisers and hotel staff.

If flu-like symptoms are exhibited or detected in guests or staff, those people will be politely asked to leave the premises immediately and advised to seek medical attention.

Depending on the situation, other sanitary measures may be taken in the interest of the safety and health of guests and organisers.

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards team will closely monitor the latest updates from WHO and follow recommendations by local health authorities.

“As property markets around the world adjust to a new normal due to the spread of Covid-19, Asia’s leading real estate awards programme will carry out all the necessary measures to ensure the highest level of hygiene at our events. Our gala presentations will adhere to the standards set in each country where we host them and the health of our guests will always be a priority,” said Jules Kay, managing director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards started implementing such pre-emptive health checks and hygienic measures at the recent press conference for one of its biggest annual events, the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards, which was launched in Ho Chi Minh City in late February. The same protocols have been applied at the media engagement activities in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Bangkok, Thailand in the first quarter of 2020.
