V-ZUG powers up the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards programme as official Gold Sponsor
Swiss appliance titan plugs into the awards ceremonies in Thailand and Vietnam, fuelling a focus on innovative, user-centric developments
For the first time ever, V-ZUG, Switzerland’s premier brand for household appliances, has taken on the role of official Gold Sponsor for both the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards and the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards in 2024.
Aligning with a company that has over a century of experience in innovating kitchen and utility room appliances, this partnership supports the programme’s vision of encouraging award winners to design and construct buildings and homes with the end-users’ needs as a priority.
To gain further insight into this significant collaboration, the editors of Property Report by PropertyGuru spoke with V-ZUG:
How does your sponsorship of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2024 support your company’s strategic objectives and principles in the real estate industry?
V-ZUG is renowned as a premier household appliance brand in Switzerland and has garnered acclaim for its innovative designs cultivated over a span of 111 years in the industry. The steadfast commitment to perpetuating inspiration, fostering customer delight, and upholding Swiss precision has resulted in the development of pioneering steam technology and sustainable laundry products that streamline daily living.
The strategic partnership with the Property Guru Asia Property Awards serves to accentuate V-ZUG’s dedication to realising the vision of elevated residential living standards in Thailand and Vietnam.
The Managing Director of V-ZUG Southeast Asia, Angeline Yap, has iterated that the affiliation with the Awards bolsters the company’s commitment to manifesting the concept of superior residences for individuals in Thailand and Vietnam. The partnership, she emphasises, seeks to endorse outstanding achievements by entities operating in the competitive real estate market, thereby fostering the sharing of exemplary undertakings and projects to actualise the vision of enhanced living spaces for all.
As a sponsor, what role does your company play in fostering diversity and inclusion within the real estate sector, and how will this be reflected in your participation in the awards?
As Switzerland’s leading household appliance brand, the V-ZUG Group has been upholding its domestic prominence. Closer to home, V-ZUG has subsidiaries in the EU and UK. In the Asia Pacific region, V-ZUG is present in cities across Australia and China as well as Singapore and has plans to cater to Thailand and Vietnam.
In recent months, V-ZUG opened Studios in major cities like Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Milan, and Sydney. The company is expanding with the aim to continually shape a future where our professional kitchen products and technical services can simplify, enrich, and enhance the daily lives of each user across more diverse regions.
V-ZUG is committed to making life easier, and more inclusive, through actively contributing to a more accessible environment for all.
In terms of sustainability and responsible development, what actions is your company taking to adhere to the Awards’ mission, demonstrating your commitment to both high performance and social and environmental responsibility?
Our commitment to sustainability and responsibility has been the hallmark of the company’s 111-year legacy. It has influenced how we develop appliances, provide services, and our manufacturing practices to contribute to a society that is ready for the future.
“Our appliances are designed for durability, offering not just functionality but also timeless aesthetic appeal,” emphasised Yap. For instance, V-ZUG washing machines and dryers are equipped with the Eco-Management function, allowing users to easily monitor energy consumption. V-ZUG dishwashers include features like the Energy saving programme, which reduces wash temperatures and shortens cycle times, ultimately resulting in approximately 10 percent energy savings without compromising cleaning performance.
Furthermore, V-ZUG’s approach to CO2 emissions is to “prevent, reduce, offset”. The company has been 100 percent CO2 neutral since 2020, achieved by using an internal CO2 levy to finance projects that offset any remaining emissions. This includes compensating for direct emissions and partially compensating for indirect emissions with its own forest, the V-Forest, located in Glen Lochay in the Perthshire region of Scotland.
Its contributions are helping to grow a native mixed woodland (42 percent birch, 21 percent pine, 16 percent oak, and other local species). Over the next 100 years, the reforested areas will capture and store around 210,000 tonnes of CO2. As well as sequestering the CO2, the project has other positive side effects, such as increasing biodiversity, improving local water quality, restoring the moor landscape and helping hinder floods. Native flora and fauna will be able to flourish, and nature will find its balance.
Are there specific products or services offered by your company that could particularly benefit or attract the winners of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2024?
