Malaysia’s top two leading property portals have launched the 9th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty.com.my, bringing together the nation’s most respected awards programmes to set a new single benchmark for excellence in Malaysian real estate.

The good news comes as PropertyGuru Group (NYSE: PGRU), Southeast Asia’s leading proptech company, integrates and combines forces with premier property portal iProperty.com.my, capturing 90 percent of the property market and connecting developers and agents with the largest base of high-intent property seekers.

The 9th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty.com.my will be judged by an 18-strong panel of top property industry experts with categories covering residential, commercial and industrial properties, as well as architecture and design awards. The prestigious accolades will also include the coveted People’s Choice Awards, as voted by Malaysian property buyers, plus special recognitions and titles.

The revamped awards programme will honour the Winners at the exclusive gala dinner and ceremony on Friday, 18 November 2022, at the historic Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the official venue of the Awards. The highly anticipated ceremony will be staged according to updated health and hygiene protocols in the Malaysian city.

• 11-24 July 2022 – People’s Choice Awards voting period (independently verified by PwC Malaysia)
• 26-28 July 2022 – Live Judging Days

• 9 December 2022 – Regional Grand Final Gala Event in Bangkok, Thailand

One-hundred categories are open in 2022 where one winner per category will be selected from the long list. Nominees and entrants will undergo a fair, transparent, ethical judging process, under the helm of HLB as the official supervisor of Awards. The independent panel of judges comprises highly respected, renowned industry leaders in real estate, consultancy, architecture & design, finance, legal, and related fields. The esteemed panel of judges will provide their unbiased insights during the Live Judging Days set in late July 2022.

John Ler and Kelvin Chew, international contact partner and managing partner of HLB Ler Lum Chew – HLB Malaysia, respectively, lead the third-party team of supervisors, ensuring credibility, fairness and transparency of the entire awards process.

In addition to the independent panel of judges, consumers will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred companies through the People’s Choice Awards, honouring the 10 most popular development companies in the country. Results of the People’s Choice Awards are independently verified by PwC Malaysia.

Reaching a wider audience including consumers, investors and real estate agents throughout Malaysia and across Asia Pacific, the exclusive gala dinner and presentation of the PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty.com.my in November will be streamed live on AsiaPropertyAwards.com/tv-podcast and the official channels on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well as on iProperty.com.my’s Facebook page. Country winners from Malaysia have a chance to claim the “Best in Asia” honours as they advance to the 17th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, which will be hosted in Bangkok on 9 December 2022. The hybrid physical and virtual edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit, the tech and thought leadership platform of PropertyGuru Group, will take place in the same week.
