Raising the bar at the 19th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards

The 19th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 2024 unfolded on Friday, September 20, at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Bangkok. This prestigious event celebrated the finest in Thailand’s real estate sector, bringing together developers, designers, and industry professionals for a night of recognition and accolades. Hosted by the charming duo, Jack Prinya and Elizabeth Sadler, the event was a stunning showcase of innovation and excellence in property development.

The program started with a warm welcome from Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, who underscored the enduring legacy of the awards. In his speech, Kay reflected on the program’s nearly two-decade history, stating, “Our longest-running awards programme has honoured outstanding residences, commercial developments, industrial projects, and notable personalities for almost two decades. We highlight this longevity by expanding our awards to recognise developments not only in the centrally located hubs of Bangkok but also in emerging markets and second-home destinations from the Eastern Seaboard to the Andaman.” His words set the tone for an evening celebrating excellence across Thailand’s diverse and evolving property landscape.

The judging panel, chaired by Suphin Mechuchep, CEO of Sen X Group PCL, included esteemed experts such as Chaivut Saengaram, Ph.D., managing director, Chuchawal-Royal Haskoning, Dutch Design & Engineers Consulting Firm; Chaiyuth Pete Thirangoon, director, Akatan Company Limited; Leong Choong Peng, advisor, Mentabuild Limited; Marciano Birjmohun, vice-chairman, The Singapore-Thai Chambers of Commerce; Dr. Phongthon Tharachai, CEO, Project Planning Service Public Company Limited; Precha Suphapetiporn, president, Thai Real Estate Sales and Marketing Association; Sasivimol Sinthawanarong, design principal, Jarken Co., Ltd.; and Professor Sonthya Vanichvatana, dean of the School of Architecture and Design, Assumption University. Their participation further ensured the awards’ transparency and credibility.

2024 Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year, selected by the editorial team of Property Report, was awarded to Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PLC. She was recognized for her leadership and contributions to the real estate landscape in Thailand.

The event also featured the presentation of the People’s Choice Awards, an exciting new addition to the ceremony. This year, ten developers were voted as top picks by consumers: AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, Central Pattana Residence Co. Ltd., Land and Houses Public Company Limited, L.P.N. Development Public Company Limited, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited, Major Development, Property Perfect Pcl., Sansiri Public Company Limited, Siam Piwat Company Limited, and Singha Estate Public Company Limited.

The coveted award for the night, Best Developer Award, went to Sansiri Public Company Limited, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in Thai real estate.
