The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property announced today the final shortlist of nominees that will be moving on to the virtual gala event and awards presentation on Friday, 23 October 2020.
Around 13 companies have been shortlisted for the most prestigious real estate honours in Myanmar, which have been expanded this year to seven Developer categories and new accolades including Best Luxury Condo Development and Best Heritage Renovated Property.
Ayeyarwaddy Development Public Co., Ltd., Capital Development Ltd., Dagon International Limited, and Sun Myat Tun Construction Co., Ltd. accumulated the most nominations among developers, with Pathein Industrial City, the ambitious township development by Ayeyarwaddy Development Public Co., Ltd., and Mandalay Financial Center, the new office development by Capital Development Ltd., each competing in two categories.
With three nominations, including Best Retail Development and Best Office Development, Meeyahta Development Limited’s mixed-use project Yoma Central scored the most nods among developments.
The luxury condo project Skysuites by SCW Development Group Ltd. as well as the Gyogone Housing Redevelopment by Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Company Limited obtained two nominations apiece. The entertainment-oriented developments Sandayaw Hotel & Resort by Lawson International Company Limited and Woodland X Bar by Factory to Home Company likewise garnered multiple nods.
The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property has conducted this year a successful nominations drive, marked by a high quality of entrants.
Justin Sway, chief executive officer of Shwe Property, said the nominations signify a “strong demand” in the Myanmar real estate market. He added: “Despite Covid-19, the need for marketing both locally and internationally post-pandemic remains strong. We’re glad to be partnering with PropertyGuru to make these awards the biggest ever in the country.”
He continued: “The quality [of the entries] has been superb. It’s really great to see some of the biggest and diverse developers thinking strategically about future real estate sales opportunities in 2021.”
In addition to the competitive awards, the PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property will serve as the occasion to present the Myanmar Real Estate Personality of the Year title to Win Win Tint, group chief executive officer of City Holdings. This makes her the first female recipient of the honour, which is chosen annually by editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine and the only award not decided by the independent judging panel.
The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property will abide by health protocols and adopt a safe, virtual format for its gala event and awards presentation. This historic virtual edition will bring nominated developers and projects in front of a global viewership that includes real estate consumers and agents for the first time.
Leveraging the extensive platforms of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Shwe Property, these virtual celebrations will extend the market reach of shortlisted companies and developments via multimedia channels.
Jules Kay, managing director of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, earlier said: “The partnership between Southeast Asia’s largest property technology company and Myanmar’s most recognised property portal has allowed us to shift the awards to a virtual format this year. The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property will be a truly inclusive event that awards marks of excellence to the nation’s most outstanding developers on a truly international platform, connecting Myanmar’s real estate brands with their peers, property seekers, consumers, and real estate agents across multiple countries.”
