Malaysia’s real estate players recognised at the eighth edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia)
Achievements across 25 categories were honoured, including an all-new Best Developer (Central Malaysia) title
As Malaysia’s property market was heavily impacted by the pandemic over the past two years, it could take anywhere from half a year to two years for the industry to fully recover. However, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it is not the time to remain stagnant, but rather the time to start celebrating our road to recovery.
November 25th marked the jollification of the 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), presented by Kohler, which broadcasted virtually on AsiaPropertyAwards.com and multiple digital platforms, with highlights to air on the History Channel.
This 2021 edition of the programme marks the second annual virtual gala celebration and engaged more than 1,300 audiences, who gathered to commemorate the achievements of Malaysia’s finest property developers in 25 categories, as well as special honours and new titles.
Collecting a total of eight awards on the night, Tropicana Corporation Berhad won the coveted Best Developer award and all-new Best Developer (Central Malaysia) title. Top winners of the programme included OCR Group Berhad, Ideal Property Group, and Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad earning Best Lifestyle Developer, Best Affordable Homes Developer, and Best Township Developer, respectively.
Another big trophy presented at the 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) was the 2021 Malaysia Real Estate Personality of the Year title, chosen solely by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine. Ho Kong Soon, the Group Managing Director of Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, accepted the trophy, securing the Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad leader’s legacy in the conceptualisation, development and stewardship of well-thought-out townships and communities across Malaysia.

Ho Kong Soon said: “I would like to dedicate the award this year to all my stakeholders as well as the Matrix team because of their dedication and their commitment to make all this possible.”
Jack Prinya Ruenprapan and Kelly Jones-Purves were again masters of the night, keeping viewers excited and entertained throughout the whole virtual session.
