The 13th edition of Malaysia’s premier property awards launches with expanded categories that mirror market dynamics and changing consumer lifestyles

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — The PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty has officially opened entries for its 2026 programme, unveiling a significantly expanded lineup of categories. The property market has benefited from an industrial boom while upholding the best practices in sustainable design and development. In this transformative era for Malaysia, and with our panel of industry experts ready to share their expertise, the awards will once again recognise the gold standard of real estate and engage more consumers as developers offer more value and innovation.”

Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, chairperson of the PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia judging panel and president of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) 2020-2022, said: “We welcome the latest PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty against a backdrop of economic resilience and encouraging real estate fundamentals. This year, we envision a greater, better version of the property industry and the quality of entries as public initiatives widen access to homeownership and developers strategise toward real market demand. With consumer sentiment regaining strength and market dynamics stabilising, we are thrilled for what the awards programme brings as it enters its highly anticipated 13th edition.”

Expanded lineup of categories

The 2026 categories include new Developer awards such as Best Condo Developer, Best Landed Homes Developer, and Best Master Developer, recognising excellence on both project and portfolio levels.

The High Rise and Landed segments have been strengthened with the introduction of Best First Home High Rise, Best International High Rise, Best First Home Landed, and Best International Landed, highlighting developments that address affordability, accessibility, and cross-border appeal.

In the township segment, new categories like Best Resort Style Township and Best Destination Development spotlight large-scale, master-planned communities that excel in lifestyle integration and placemaking. The commercial sector is further enhanced with Best Landmark Development, recognising projects that define cityscapes and commercial hubs.

Sustainability and social responsibility are central to the 2026 awards, underscored by three new ESG-focused accolades: Sustainable Living Champion, Responsible Construction Champion, and Community Impact Champion. These categories honour the industry’s growing commitment to environmental stewardship and positive community outcomes.

Complementing the judged categories, the People’s Choice Awards return as key consumer-driven accolades, honouring the Top 10 Developers in Malaysia. Decided by 100% public voting, the awards empower Malaysian property buyers to recognise the developers they trust most. All parent companies of developers in the judged categories automatically qualify, ensuring broad representation. The 2025 edition attracted over 20,000 public votes, underscoring its significance among consumers.

The 13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty builds on the strong regional track record of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series, which last year saw more than 200 leading developers competing across over 660 award categories throughout Asia Pacific.
