Blazing a trail in the property sector, Pak Joko’s bold leadership and visionary approach continue to reshape the future of Indonesian real estate
In a resounding acknowledgement of his remarkable contributions to the Indonesian property landscape, Joko Suranto, the chairman of Real Estate Indonesia (REI), as well as founder and CEO of Buana Kassiti Group, will be honoured as the 2024 Indonesia Real Estate Personality of the Year. This prestigious title, granted by the editors of Property Report by PropertyGuru, highlights his unwavering dedication, innovative spirit, and significant impact on the country’s real estate sector.
Joko Suranto will be officially crowned with this esteemed title on 23 August during the 10th PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place. The event will bring together the most influential figures in the industry to celebrate excellence in Indonesian real estate. Born on January 20, 1969, in Central Java, Joko Suranto’s journey into the world of real estate is as inspiring as it is impressive. With a strong educational foundation in Civil Law from Sebelas Maret University and a Master’s degree in Humanities and Business Law from Parahyangan Catholic University, Joko began his career in 1997 as a bank employee. By 2008, he had risen to become the Head of a State-Owned Bank Branch (BTN) in Tasikmalaya, a role that underscored his leadership abilities and commitment to excellence.
However, Joko’s vision extended far beyond the confines of banking. At the age of 38, encouraged by his wife and three children, he made the bold decision to venture into the property sector, founding Buana Kassiti Group. With humility and a strong network of relationships, he steered the company towards success, initiating 33 housing development projects across West Java and West Sumatera, in addition to a hotel and a resort project.
Under his leadership, Buana Kassiti Group flourished, earning numerous accolades for its significant contributions to the industry. His achievements extend beyond the boardroom, as he has held prominent positions such as Deputy Chairperson of the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairperson of the West Java REI.
Joko’s leadership within REI, first as Chairman of REI Jawa Barat for two terms and more recently as the Chairman of REI in 2023, has been transformative. His commitment to enhancing the organisation’s role in Indonesia’s economic growth and his passion for empowering property developers nationwide underscores his selection for this distinguished award.
Joko Suranto’s selection as the 2024 Indonesia Real Estate Personality of the Year is a testament to his visionary leadership, dedication to the industry, and the significant strides he has made in shaping the future of real estate in Indonesia. Be sure to tune in on 23 August to witness the celebration of this outstanding achievement.
