8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) hopefuls advance to 2021 virtual gala celebration

A year in real estate achievements to be celebrated at second virtual gala event of prestigious awards programme

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — 12 October 2021

PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), the country’s leading real estate awards programme, today announced the shortlisted development companies and projects that would be advancing to its 2021 series finale.

Around 20 companies, including development luminaries like Binastra Land Sdn Bhd, Ideal Property Group, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, OCR Group Berhad, Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, and Tropicana Corporation Berhad, have been shortlisted as nominees for the 8th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), presented by Kohler.

The programme will be celebrating the achievements of the real estate sector from north to central Malaysia in 25 categories, including competitive awards, special recognitions, and never-before-presented titles such as Best Club House Design.

Ho Kong Soon, group managing director of Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, will be receiving the 2021 Malaysia Real Estate Personality of the Year award. Decided by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report, the official magazine of the awards, this prestigious title honours the long-time Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad leader for his admirable stewardship of the company, especially in the planning, development and management of its many township projects and communities.

This year, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) programme will mark its second annual virtual gala broadcast presentation, following a successful inaugural virtual gala event that engaged consumers, agents and investors across Asia Pacific in 2020. The virtual gala celebration of the 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) will be simulcast Thursday, 25 November 2021 on AsiaPropertyAwards.com/tv-podcast and the official livestreaming platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. Highlights of the show will be broadcast on the History Channel, the official cable TV partner of the awards.

The 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) programme comes ahead of the highly anticipated events known as “PropertyGuru Week” in December. These include the 16th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, where top winners from Malaysia will compete with country winners around Asia Pacific for various regional ‘Best in Asia’ titles. The 2021 edition of the awards programme for Australia, China (Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau), Greater Niseko (Japan), India, and Sri Lanka will take place in the run-up to the Grand Final.

The Grand Final will also be preceded by the opening of the 2021 PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit’s virtual world. Also known as the tech and thought leadership platform of the awards, the summit is due to showcase keynote presentations and discussions by high-level speakers, covering such subject matters as the data landscape, accessible data, sustainable development, and data innovation.
