Gold Standard

For over 16 years, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series has been hailed as the Gold Standard for excellence in the Asia-Pacific real estate industry, according to roundtable presenter Jules Kay, managing director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events. The latest edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (India) deepens the programme’s expansion into the multifaceted markets of South Asia – an effort that took off with the inclusion of Sri Lanka in the series in 2017. Developers and projects across India will reap benefits from the regional platform and exposure represented by the Awards.

Amit Khanna, managing director of Phoenix Advisers, joined the virtual roundtable as chairperson of the judging panel of the 2021 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (India). He underlined the significance of forging ahead with the second edition of the Awards in India despite pandemic-induced headwinds to the global economy.

To uphold the credibility, transparency, fairness and objectivity of the judging process, HLB International has been appointed as Official Supervisor of the 2021 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (India). The roundtable invited Paul Ashburn, ASPAC Leader for HLB Real Estate Group, to speak about the important role of the global advisory firm and accounting network in preserving the integrity of the Awards.

Stable market

Other roundtable speakers prognosticated the future of the Indian market in the face of the global health crisis. Another member of the judging panel, Madhav Raman, co-founder of Anagram Architects, talked about the pandemic’s palpable influence on commercial and public facility design, in addition to post-Covid-19 standards in the retrofitting of buildings.

Fellow judge Ajai A. Kapoor, CEO of 360 Degrees – Real Estate Service, presented his analyses on online or digital technologies as drivers of property transactions during the pandemic. He also tackled the locations and asset segments primed for post-pandemic success in India, plus growth trends around the nation.

“India is still seen as a very stable market, broadly speaking from a real estate perspective,” Kapoor told PropertyGuru Property Report, the Official Magazine of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

Triumphant awardees

Developers and projects that triumph in top categories of the India event will gain an opportunity to compete for the “Best in Asia” titles at the 16th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, also set for 9 December. Eligible country awardees in India will be competing with their peers across Asia Pacific, representing top winners in the 2021 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series. Both the India event and Grand Final, along with the 2021 edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit, will be part of this year’s PropertyGuru Week.

Highlights of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (India) will be aired for the first time on the History Channel, the Official Cable TV Partner of the Awards, offering regionwide exposure to award recipients.

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series began in 2005 and has grown over the years since in terms of coverage and technology.
