Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Park

Shanghai Midea Global Innovation Park is a large-scale office development that reimagines the contemporary corporate campus through the integration of architecture, landscape, and public space.
Located in Qingpu District, west of Shanghai’s Hongqiao Business District, the project spans approximately 400,000 square metres and is scheduled for completion in July 2025. Developed by Midea Group and designed by BLAD, the park is conceived as a future-oriented science and technology hub shaped by innovation, ecology, and human experience.
The design vision, described as “a technology park above the forest,” introduces four interrelated themes: a three-dimensional forest, healthy sports, a three-dimensional transportation system, and shared spaces. At ground level, a continuous network of plazas, landscaped streets, and sunken courtyards creates an open public realm. Green spaces rise from the city into the site, extending across planted podium roofs and upward into sky gardens. A public road passes through the development, dividing it into northern and southern zones while maintaining permeability.
The podium houses reception areas, exhibition spaces, cultural and sports facilities, retail, cafés, and dining venues. Elevated bridges and underground connections link the two zones. Above the podium, two interlocking L-shaped office buildings form an elevated ring supported by fourteen structural cores, allowing daylight and views to flow freely. Outdoor terraces and sky gardens replace conventional rooftops.
Beyond its architectural expression, the park serves as Midea Group’s Shanghai headquarters base, bringing international R&D resources together and reinforcing global collaboration.
The development won Best Office Interior Design (Mainland China) at the 12th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau) and Best Office Interior Design (Asia) at the 2025 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final.
