Originally founded in 1913 by renowned Guangzhou merchant Tan Kit Nam, this heritage site has been meticulously restored by New Orient Group after being left derelict for 33 years. Recognised by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau as an Edifício De Interesse Arquitectónico (Building of Architectural Interest), the hotel seamlessly blends historical charm with contemporary elegance.
Designed by Eddie Wong & Associates Limited, the 62-room boutique hotel pays homage to its rich history through an art-deco-inspired aesthetic. Natural oak, walnut, and handcrafted emerald green tiles embellish the interiors, complemented by bronze and emerald metal accents. The design is a modern reinterpretation of the original Lok-Kok Restaurant’s dining spaces, preserving the essence of its legacy while incorporating sleek, minimalist elements. The lounge area’s flooring features intricate patterns inspired by the decorative tiles and windows of the original building, merging historical motifs with modern materials.
