Some of the biggest names in vertical transportation, real estate consultancy, and housing products made possible the fifth edition of the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards, held on Friday, 4 September 2020 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.

Hitachi Elevators & Escalators served as the platinum sponsor of the 5th Annual PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards – joining gold sponsor CBRE Cambodia as well as silver sponsors Jotun and CAM Business Consultancy in making the biggest night for the Khmer real estate industry a festive reality.

Top representatives of the sponsors hobnobbed with executives of nearly a dozen companies, representing the crème de la crème of real estate developers in the kingdom, in a festive black-tie gala dinner aligned with prevailing health and safety precautions.

“During these past nine months, we are all meeting at a very critical time for Covid-19, yet we managed to achieve a wide variety of creations,” said Sakchai Worrasangasilpa, managing director of Hitachi Elevators & Escalators, in a speech at the ceremony.

“If we roam around downtown today we will see renovated buildings that there are, to be sure, many new opportunities and challenges. As many projects are preparing and waiting to return to prosperity and Hitachi also has received requests of inquiry that should be a good sign,” he added.

Hitachi is a household name not only in Japan but also in Cambodia, where it has been delivering escalators and elevators to projects since 1982. In 2014, Hitachi delivered elevators and escalators for Royal Phnom Penh Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the country. Two years later, Hitachi Elevator (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. was established, facilitating the design, planning, supply, installation and maintenance of vertical transportation systems, including escalators and elevators, as well as moving sidewalks throughout the country.

“With our mission to deliver products of high safety, quality and satisfaction to our customers. Hitachi would like to be a part of the support to pass this critical time and your successes,” said Sakchai.

5th PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards returns to host Phnom Penh gala dinner to announce 2020 winners

Gold sponsor CBRE Cambodia, for its part, saw good property management take increasing priority in the real estate industry over the past months, according to the company’s managing director Sothida Ann.

“We have also seen the need for valuations and consulting rise due to the current economic climate. We are sure that other services we offer, such as residential property marketing and commercial brokerage will also benefit greatly from the exposure that the PropertyGuru gala offers,” she added.

“This is also a wonderful opportunity for people to get to know our brand and full spectrum real estate services that we offer. We are delighted that so many of the attendees for this event are already our clients and we are looking forward to meeting new projects and the faces behind them as well.”

Jotun is proud to support the event as a silver sponsor, according to the company’s general manager Svein Johan Stub. “As a supplier of premium products, we like to endorse and celebrate the great accomplishments of serious developers,” he said.

Jotun is in the business of “protecting property” through its wide product range of paints and coatings that have been specially developed for unique conditions. With 65 companies and 39 production facilities on all continents, the Jotun Group is represented in over 100 countries, including Cambodia.

Khmer real estate’s elite shine at 5th Cambodia Property Awards

The awards would not be possible without the support of another silver sponsor, Collective Asian Markets Business Consultancy Co., Ltd (CAMBC). Good sales and marketing strategies form a fundamental part of each real estate development, according to CAMBC Managing Director Christine Cheung, and they are more important than ever during the pandemic.

“Without an adequate strategy a project’s branding and sales conversion success would likely be affected. In an environment where the real estate market is seemingly competitive as buyers have the luxury of selection, developers should emphasize the importance of their projects defining attributes, combined with how it adds to the overall consumer experience,” she said.

“PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards is undoubtedly one of the coveted real estate industry accolades in South East Asia. The initiative’s continual search for distinction in real estate projects, land developers, architectural design and more, sets a standard at which industry professionals should aspire to. We support companies that push the boundaries of real estate development and this award is undoubtedly worth celebrating annually.”

In addition to Hitachi Elevators & Escalators, CBRE Cambodia, Jotun and CAMBC, the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards was supported by official magazine PropertyGuru Property Report; media partners BizKhmer, Construction & Property, Siemreap.net, and Southeast Asia Globe; official PR partner Two Way PR; official charity partner Right To Play; official ESG Partner Baan Dek Foundation; and official supervisor BDO.
