NI Development Co. Ltd’s co-founder and managing director Oknha Nito H. Lim was recently honoured as the 2019 Cambodia Real Estate Personality of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the commercial segment. He was chosen by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report magazine for this efforts to raise the profile of Cambodia as a preferred investment hub and his commitment to the Cambodian real estate market by launching and developing sustainable commercial properties.
The young Lim, who was granted the title ‘Oknha’ from the Cambodian government in 2008, is experienced in construction for small- to large-scale projects, including design development to operations. He received his business education from the Fudan University of Shanghai and his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles. He is currently on track to earn his master’s degree in business management from Aston Business University in the United Kingdom.
As head of NI Development, Lim has diversified the company portfolio into new ventures, including the award-winning Noro Mall, Rise Commercial Office, Dynasty Casino and Resort, and The New Venetian.
His philanthropic works include infrastructure projects for roads, waterways, electricity lines, educational institutions and temples in Cambodia.
Dedicating the special honour to his wife and team, Lim accepted the 2019 Cambodia Real Estate Personality of the Year award from PropertyGuru Group’s chief financial officer Joe Dische at the 4th Annual PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards gala dinner on 3 May 2019 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
“Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my architects, engineers, and management team, for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at each stage,” Lim said in his acceptance speech.
“To the shareholders of NI Development and CP&A Group, it is with great privilege that I stand here today representing your companies in receiving this prestigious award. To my wife, I love you, and thank you for always supporting me. You are the foundation in our family. I sincerely thank each one of you – the editors, the judges, my colleagues – for helping me reach a stage where I can proudly hold up this award as a mark of my achievement,” he added.
