JLC is a retail landmark in the heart of Nanjing’s Xinjiekou district. Developed by Hongkong Land, the project introduces a contemporary retail environment that redefines shopping, culture, and social life within one of China’s most established urban centres.<\/p>\n
Occupying approximately 92,000 square metres across eight above-ground floors and four basement levels, JLC is seamlessly integrated with Xinjiekou Station on Metro Lines 1 and 2. This direct transit connectivity ensures strong accessibility and continuous footfall.<\/p>\n
Designed by CAN Design, JLC introduces a refined identity that balances understated elegance with a youthful expression rooted in local culture. The design narrative draws inspiration from the historic “Eight Scenic Views of Jinling,” reinterpreting Nanjing’s cultural heritage through modern spatial storytelling. Architectural and interior expressions work in harmony, employing a cohesive palette of bronze-toned metal, natural stone, glass, and wood. The fa\u00e7ade takes cues from the city’s ancient walls, while a prominent naked-eye 3D screen transforms JLC into a striking urban beacon after dark.<\/p>\n
Inside, the retail journey unfolds as a sequence of immersive environments. A 30-metre-high central atrium anchors the interior, reinforcing a sense of ceremony. Signature spaces such as a sunken plaza, interactive art corridors, and a rooftop garden further enrich the visitor experience, introducing rare moments of greenery and daylight within the dense city centre.<\/p>\n
JLC functions as a multidimensional social hub. Rooftop dining areas, open-air social terraces, and curated public spaces position the project as an urban living room at the intersection of fashion, art, culture, and lifestyle.<\/p>\n
The development won Best Retail Development (Mainland China) at the 12th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau) and Best Retail Development (Asia) at the 2025 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final.<\/p>\n
