M8 is a cultural retail destination inspired by Macau\u2019s rich heritage. Located in Macau\u2019s UNESCO district, the project pays homage to the city\u2019s historic context by linking vibrant Senado Square with the surrounding old streets.<\/p>\n

Set at the intersection of Travessa do Roquete and Rua da S\u00e9, M8 is within a 10-minute walk from Senado Square and the General Post Office. Senado Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features traditional Portuguese calcada paving stones. The General Post Office, a beautiful blend of European and Chinese architectural elements, now houses the Communications Museum. Nearby, The Ruins of St. Paul\u2019s, another UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as an icon of Macau\u2019s multicultural history.<\/p>\n

M8\u2019s design embraces a sense of locality by blending Chinese and Western elements; integrating modernity with tradition and history; combining dynamic and static aspects; and reinventing the past. The building \u201cgrows\u201d naturally from the land, following the cultural context, and integrates with neighbouring historic buildings, communities, and urban areas.<\/p>\n

The construction of M8 focuses on quality craftsmanship and creating a sense of place. The sculptural glass fa\u00e7ade incorporates 1-millimetre-thick, translucent stone laminates, resulting in a captivating interplay of light in the evening.<\/p>\n

Notably, M8 holds the Guinness World Record for \u201cthe largest curved stone-laminated glass fa\u00e7ade\u201d in the world.<\/p>\n

M8 is developed by China State Construction Engineering (Macau) Co., Ltd., an affiliate of China Overseas Group. Established in 1981, the company is one of the largest contractors and most diversified investors in Macau.<\/p>\n

The developer was named winner, Best Retail Development (Asia), Best Retail Development (Hong Kong and Macau), and Best Landmark Development (Hong Kong and Macau) at the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Grand Final)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
