During the pandemic, Vietnam has managed to keep the number of infections low, which bode well for\u00a0<\/span>its<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>potential to become an investment hub.\u00a0<\/span>Opportunities for new trade and investment arose, and its economy remained as resilient as ever, revealed <\/span>Techwire Asia.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The digital businesses within the country have also prospered<\/span>, with experts claiming that it\u00a0<\/span>has become <\/span>\u201cthe fastest-growing digital economy in the entire Asia Pacific.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Backed by<\/span> a \u2018forward-thinking, digitally-invested government\u2019 who has been encouraging the establishment of a national e-commerce transformation plan,\u00a0<\/span>online businesses are forecasted to grow by <\/span>up to 43 percent in the next five years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Th<\/span>is same government<\/span>\u00a0have also been supervising\u00a0<\/span>the plan to transform Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam\u2019s business and technology hub, into \u2018the country\u2019s first, truly smart city.\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the press release published by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, the<\/span>\u00a0authorities have already\u00a0<\/span>established the fundamental components to modernise\u00a0<\/span>the city<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the essential aspects that will be implemented include a smart city operations and control centre,\u00a0<\/span>a centre for information safety, a centre for socioeconomic forecasts and simulation, and a shared database with an open data ecosystem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With a centralised data collection,\u00a0<\/span>urban problems can easily be addressed since the<\/span>y will be able to come up with solutions\u00a0<\/span>optimised for the city based on data-driven insights.<\/span>\u00a0Some of the solutions that can benefit residents are improved urban transportation systems, traffic management,\u00a0<\/span>and environmental monitoring and control.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the city of about nine million people moves forward by modernising its infras<\/span>tructure, it will eventually be able to attract more foreign investments and collaboration opportunities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
