According to\u00a0<\/span>CapitaLand, their\u00a0<\/span>fully-owned<\/span>\u00a0lodging business unit The Ascott, will be\u00a0<\/span>expanding across the Philippines,\u00a0<\/span>Australia and China by adding six new properties wit<\/span>h more than 1,000 units\u00a0<\/span>under its co-living brand\u00a0<\/span>l<\/span>yf, reported\u00a0<\/span>The Straits Times<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this addition, the<\/span>y<\/span>\u00a0revealed that they will have 14\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0properties with more than 2,700 units in total and 13 of these properties\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>expected to open betw<\/span>een 2020 and 2024.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the six new properties, Ascott has already signed contracts for\u00a0<\/span>its second pro<\/span>ject in the Philippines<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>called<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Malate Manila<\/span>;<\/span> four new projects throughout China called lyf Dayanta Xi’an, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Zhangjiang Shanghai,\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Midtown Hangzhou and\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Shougang Park Beijing; and its first one in Australia\u00a0<\/span>called\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Collingwood Melbourne.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, Ascott will be opening <\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok,\u00a0<\/span>its first\u00a0<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0property in Thailand on 7<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0o<\/span>f August<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The said\u00a0<\/span>property comes with 196 units, is within a short walking distance to Nana BTS Skytrain station, is only a train stop away from <\/span>Terminal 21 shopping mall and is three stations away from Siam, the <\/span>primary\u00a0<\/span>lifestyle<\/span>\u00a0centre for co-working, dining and retail.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kevin Goh, the CEO at Ascott and CEO for lodging at CapitaLand<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>explained that even though the hospitality industry\u00a0<\/span>across the globe\u00a0is<\/span>\u00a0currently going through some challenges because of the pandemic, the \u201cstrong base\u201d of long-term guests\u00a0<\/span>consisting of\u00a0<\/span>corporates, locals and expatriates continue to support<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ascott\u2019s portfolio<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>lyf<\/span>\u00a0is a hybrid lodging solution that combines the best of serviced residences, hotels and co-living apartments.
