The lotus design, created by Shanghai-based designer Hasan A. Syed, was selected to honour the traditional Chinese flower.<\/p>\n<p>The developer revealed that it will be home to the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande and that it will surpass Camp Nuo in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/en\/china-retail-sector-to-recover-in-second-half-2020-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>More: China\u2019s retail sector set to recover in the second half of 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The massive development project, once built, will be regarded as the biggest purpose-built soccer stadium in the world. However, the multi-purpose Rungrado 1st of May Stadium of North Korea, with its 114,000 seats, would still remain as the biggest sports stadium in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Evergrande said that they hope the facility would encourage Chinese soccer since the country does not have enough professional, purpose-built soccer stadiums.<\/p>\n<p>In the FIFA world rankings, China is in the 76th spot.<\/p>\n<p>The developer also added that they are planning to construct two more stadiums with 80,000-capacity in the country and its designs are currently under
