\nUnlike other countries across the globe, particularly its neighbours, Vietnam has managed to keep the rate of COVID-19 infections low, reporting a total of 270 confirmed cases, 225 recoveries and only 45 active cases as of 28 April 2020.<\/p>\n

DW Akademie<\/a> believes that the early imposition of control measures when the pandemic was still confined in China helped the country battle the virus early on.<\/p>\n

As the rate of transmission increased in other countries, local authorities introduced robust quarantine policies and performed contact tracing to identify at-risk individuals. These processes were conducted much earlier during the outbreak compared to China where they ended up closing entire cities as a last resort to further contain the spread.<\/p>\n

Last 12 of February, for instance, a town near Hanoi with 10,000 residents was placed under quarantine when the country only had 10 confirmed cases.<\/p>\n

To this day, authorities extensively and meticulously monitor anyone who may have come into contact with the virus, as well as document second, third and fourth levels of contact to persons infected. These individuals would then have to abide by strict movement and contact restrictions.<\/p>\n

As an added precaution, the government also imposed a 14-day quarantine for people arriving from high-risk areas and ordered the closure of universities, schools and non-essential businesses.<\/p>\n

However, as with any other affected country, all these restrictions mean that around five million people lost their jobs, according to Vietnam Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The government has already pumped around USD1.1 billion into the economy to ease the burden, but with limited resources, they will need as much help as they can to completely eradicate the threat, which is why they have asked for voluntary donations. Among those who answered their call for help are the winning developers of the Vietnam Property Awards.<\/p>\n

\nCapitaLand Vietnam donated 40,000 SARS-CoV-2 test kits<\/a> worth USD1 million to the Vietnam Ministry of Health and Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, giving the country a much-needed tool to help combat the virus. These test kits will be distributed to testing centres across Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi City, and around 7,500 of these tests will be given to the National Pediatric Hospital in Hanoi.<\/p>\n

They have also offered financial assistance to their retail tenants, such as rental relief and flexible rental payments, and have ensured that all their properties follow the precautionary measures set by the authorities.<\/p>\n

As one of the biggest diversified real estate group in Asia, we weren\u2019t surprised when CapitaLand bagged three regional titles at the 14th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, where the chief executive officer Chen Lian Pang was also hailed as the recipient of the 2019 PropertyGuru Icon Award.<\/p>\n

The group also took home 10 accolades and one highly commended trophy at the 5th PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards.<\/p>\n

\nIncorporated under KN Cam Ranh Company Limited, the Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, donated USD427,660<\/a> to help the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee deal with the pandemic. They also gave the same amount to individuals affected by the drought and saline intrusion in the Southern region.<\/p>\n

KN Cam nabbed five trophies at the 5th PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards, including Best Green Development and Best Hotel Development.<\/p>\n

Hung Thinh Corp, which won the Special Recognition in CSR, along with a highly commended trophy at the 4th PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards, revealed that they have partnered with An Cuong Wood Joint Stock Company to donate an FDR Nano mobile X-ray machine<\/a> valued at USD119,671 and to provide financial assistance worth over USD21,370 to the Tropical Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n

\nNovaland Group contributed healthcare equipment, such as two negative pressure isolation rooms, five ventilators and two blood purification machines, valued at USD430,000<\/a> to the People\u2019s Hospital 115 in Ho Chi Minh City. The company has also partnered up with several organisations to deliver 5,000 gift sets to disadvantaged individuals residing in Ho Chi Minh.<\/p>\n

A few months back, they have pledged USD256,360 to help the local authorities fight back against the pandemic. In the near future, they revealed that they will collaborate with Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association to deliver 10,000 quick test kits to cities across the country.<\/p>\n

The property development firm\u2019s chief executive officer Phan Thanh Huy was named the 2017 Real Estate Personality of the Year at the 3rd PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards.<\/p>\n
