Meanwhile, tourism authorities project tourist arrivals to reach five million this year, according to the <\/span>New Straits Times<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 602,000 foreign tourists visited Vietnam in H1 2022. This is 6.8 times the number of arrivals compared to last year, when entry restrictions due to the pandemic were still in place.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Nguyen Trung Khanh, deputy chairman of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the tourism sector needs to concentrate on enticing travellers from potential markets like India, the US, Europe, and the Middle East in H2 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Direct flights from India increased by over 3,000 percent in late May after Vietnam reopened to international tourism, growing 400 percent YoY. Accommodation searches also tripled from early April to mid-June.<\/span><\/p>\n

VietnamPlus <\/span><\/a>reported about a program focusing on the power of Vietnam’s tourism debuted in Ho Chi Minh City, looking for ways to increase foreign travel and fully revive Vietnam’s tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Nguyen Thi Khanh, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, domestic tourism is progressively improving with promising outcomes, but both inbound and outbound foreign travel have not recovered as anticipated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, programs aimed at introducing new products and services to locales and enterprises across the nation have been proposed, in addition to trading operations between units in the tourism industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

As summer comes to an end, costs for airline tickets, vacation packages, hotel rooms, and tourism services have all gone down, reported <\/span>VnExpress International<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The prices for flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, one of the busiest tourist destinations this summer, have dropped by 50 to 60 percent on the Vietnam Airlines website since late June.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hotel room rates have also started to decline, and unlike in earlier months, many hotels are no longer completely booked.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, domestic tourists reached 23 million in the last two months. Domestic travellers reached 60.8 million in H1 2022, which exceeds this year\u2019s target of 60 million.<\/span><\/p>\n
