{"id":3020,"date":"2019-05-10T10:29:59","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T10:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/?p=3020"},"modified":"2021-06-04T14:23:31","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T07:23:31","slug":"billionaires-worldwide-still-parking-their-wealth-in-real-estate-census","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/en\/billionaires-worldwide-still-parking-their-wealth-in-real-estate-census\/","title":{"rendered":"Billionaires worldwide still parking their wealth in real estate: census"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Also the primary industry of Chinese billionaires<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3021\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3021\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3021\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/shutterstock_331016990.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"665\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/shutterstock_331016990.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/shutterstock_331016990-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/shutterstock_331016990-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3021\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">beeboys\/Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The proportion of billionaires\u2019 wealth held in real estate and luxury assets remained virtually the same in 2018, according to the new Billionaire Census by intelligence provider Wealth-X.<\/p>\n<p>Billionaires allocated 2.2 percent of their holdings last year in real estate and luxury assets \u2014 which include such possessions as yachts, airplanes, cars, jewelry and art \u2014 a slight dip from 2.3 percent in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The latest figures are equivalent to about USD71 million in luxury holdings per individual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReal estate, food and beverages, and manufacturing comprise the remaining top five primary industries, together accounting for a fifth of all billionaires,\u201d Wealth-X researchers stated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiapropertyawards.com\/singapore-home-to-most-real-estate-billionaires-in-southeast-asia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>More: Singapore home to most real estate billionaires in Southeast Asia<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll have benefited from long-term global population growth, the continued trend towards urbanization, the rapid expansion of the middle class in many emerging markets, and the recent shift in consumer demand toward greater convenience, spurred by the increasing adoption of digitalisation around the world,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>Around 14.5 percent of billionaires in China are engaged in real estate, making it their primary industry. It ranks third overall globally, accounting for 7.6 percent of billionaires, next to industrial conglomerates at 13.1 percent and banking and finance (20.7 percent).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReal estate, industrial conglomerates and manufacturing are the leading billionaire industries, reflecting the economy\u2019s specializations,\u201d Wealth-X reported.<\/p>\n<p>Technology is also an important primary industry, &#8220;shining a light on Chinese companies\u2019 increasing influence at the global stage,&#8221; the consultancy added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Also
