International arrivals in Vietnam reached 365,300 during the first five months of 2022, according to an infographic made by <\/span>Vietnam News Agency<\/span><\/a>. Apart from that 320,700 of them travelled by air, and 230,988 of them came from Asia. Europe followed suit with 65,253, the Americas with 49,675, Oceania with 17,806, and Africa with 1,583.<\/span><\/p>\n

On 15 May, Vietnam dropped all pre-arrival testing requirements. The country no longer distinguishes between vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, but Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh warned visitors to be cautious and take adequate disease prevention precautions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel Weekly<\/span><\/a> reports that visitors will still be required to take a test when they arrive in Vietnam, but if they have tested negative, they will be allowed to roam.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Luong Hoai Nam, a member of the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board, supported the move, explaining that COVID-19 testing takes time abroad, and several countries have already dropped the requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The change will also make travelling to Vietnam easier for foreign tourists and Vietnamese abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Google data suggests that international search volume for flights associated with Vietnam climbed by 1,114 percent by the end of April 2022, and continued to rise by 2,000 percent in May compared to the same period in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, from the beginning of April to the middle of May 2022, the number of people looking for a place to stay in Vietnam surged by more than fourfold.<\/span><\/p>\n

Searches for Vietnam tourism information are prevalent in the United States, Singapore, Japan, India, France, Germany, Thailand, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as reported by <\/span>VietnamPlus<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Hue, and Quy Nhon were the most popular destinations in Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n
