In a joint survey conducted by\u00a0the Asian Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles Limited (Anrev) and accounting firm PwC, real estate investment\u00a0funds in Asia Pacific\u00a0disclosed their plans to either maintain or\u00a0increase\u00a0its\u00a0headcount\u00a0in 2022,\u00a0reported\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>South China Morning Post<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(SCMP).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The current study discovered that 42 percent of participants are looking to grow their staff in 2022, while the numbers add up to 88 percent if including those who wish to keep their current tally.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Partner at PwC Paul Walters said: \u201cThe hiring [plans] captured in this survey indicate a positive outlook for Asia Pacific business in 2022 and beyond.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Their findings\u00a0underline\u00a0the improving sentiment in the region that is known to have been able to\u00a0control\u00a0the outbreak\u00a0quite well.\u00a0For instance, SCMP\u00a0shared that\u00a0China was the only major economy to grow\u00a02.3 percent\u00a0in 2020, despite this being its\u00a0most sluggish\u00a0in decades.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The survey involved 31 fund managers around the globe with major operations in the region,\u00a0managing property assets worth\u00a0over USD1 trillion\u00a0worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

“[The results of the study show] that industry players still retain a positive outlook for business in Asia Pacific in 2022,” stated an Anrev spokesperson. “Mostly front-office functions, portfolio management, accounting, and sustainability are the areas where more than 77 percent of the respondents are hiring.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0organisers\u00a0of the study, however,\u00a0commented\u00a0that the recruitment procedure\u00a0may not be straightforward\u00a0in all instances, adding that these firms may encounter\u00a0difficulties in finding the right talent for some\u00a0roles, including portfolio management.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
