As reported in Vietnam News<\/a>, the UK and Vietnam are enhancing cooperation between the two nations in advancing the digital economy and digital transformation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday,\u00a0<\/span>Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguy\u1ec5n M\u1ea1nh H\u00f9ng, and the UK\u2019s Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Chris Philp, signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In support of digital economic development, the two officials shared initiatives and policies, including strategic orientations, projects, and national\u00a0programmes\u00a0on the development of the digital economy and digital society of each nation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They also discussed the practicability of strengthening coordination between management agencies in the digital area, as well as measures\u00a0to develop and\u00a0organise\u00a0the implementation of initiatives under the UK-ASEAN Digital Innovation Partnership and the Asia-Pacific Digital Trade Network.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Philp proposed a programme that will support ASEAN in executing digital trade platforms, including standards and architectural frameworks for smart building. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

H\u00f9ng also met with representatives from the trade association tech UK and the UK-ASEAN Business Council, in which he noted that\u00a0digital enterprises of the two countries hold a lot of potential, if joined together.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Information and Communications is considering implementing Vietnam-UK digital forums, investment promotion programmes, and seminars from 2022.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, this will create opportunities for\u00a0businesses in finding partners, expanding markets, and cooperating in projects on digital transformation and digital economy.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
