According to ET Realty.com<\/a>, the\u00a0Mangaluru\u00a0City Corporation (MCC) has decided to launch a demonstration of the new online property tax payment system following their completion of all preparations.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Akshy Sridhar, the MCC commissioner, said that a demo will be held to check and resolve technical glitches in the online property tax payment software, as part of the trial-and-error run.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After dealing with all initial issues, the commissioner said that the city corporation will be able to launch the online Self-assessment system (SAS) property tax payment system.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in the process of aggregating the software with the support of\u00a0Karnataka Bank, to facilitate online payment options,\u201d he said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The SAS tax calculation is determined by the basic guidance value of the property\u00a0(pre-determined by the MCC) based on the area, street, and property type.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Property owners may submit details of the property, as well as the number of floors, area, and tenant details. Simultaneously, the software will calculate the property tax to be paid by the owner.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mayor Premanand Shetty said that the process of introducing the system is in the final stage.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe new software will have options for property owners to view details of their properties. People may log on to the property tax payment section, by clicking the link on MCC\u2019s website. They may search their property by entering the ward name and door number. After accessing details of the property, people may generate challan to make payment of tax online,\u201d he said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mayor also added that this software will help achieve MCC\u2019s goal of\u00a0transforming\u00a0the city corporation into a paperless office.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAt present, there are nearly 250,000 properties in the city. The new system will not only make property tax payments convenient for residents but also help the MCC to achieve its long-pending goal of converting the city corporation into a paperless office. The city corporation has already launched the online facility to pay water bills and trade\u00a0licence\u00a0fee for fresh and renewal applications.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
