Since 2015, the\u00a0PropertyGuru\u00a0Asia Real Estate Summit\u00a0has served as a platform for\u00a0the industry\u2019s finest minds, top-level business leaders, and decision-makers to\u00a0educate their peers\u00a0and industry professionals about innovation, connectivity and technological applications on the built environment. At the first virtual edition of the Summit in December 2020,<\/a>\u00a0PropertyGuru called upon the Asia Pacific region\u2019s green and climate heroes and proptech experts to\u00a0advance the conversation on\u00a0green building and technology, carbon-negative and carbon-neutral design trends, humanitarian tech, the future of urban living, and smarter and healthier cities.<\/p>\n In the Summit\u2019s inaugural Digital White Paper, released in September 2021 and entitled \u201cPropTech and the Responsible Innovator,\u201d the aforementioned themes are highlighted\u00a0to\u00a0urge the\u00a0real estate industry (and by extension its investors and consumers) into\u00a0responsibly building a world\u00a0worthy\u00a0of\u00a0future\u00a0generations.<\/p>\n The summit\u2019s chairperson\u00a0Stephen Oehme<\/a>\u00a0(former board member of Dubai\u2019s Burj Khalifa and now based in Thailand) opens the discourse by\u00a0noting\u00a0that\u00a0raising awareness on\u00a0sustainability should no longer be the objective. Instead,\u00a0he insists that\u00a0now is the time to\u00a0encourage\u00a0global firms to\u00a0carry out\u00a0their own\u00a0green agenda through careful study and applying practical solutions.<\/p>\n The digital white paper features contributions by Unissu\u2019s James\u00a0Dearsley, who presents the current investment\u00a0trends and outlook for proptech businesses\u00a0in Asia Pacific.\u00a0Angelo Tan<\/a>\u00a0of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) continues by sharing his personal stories that steered him to lead the IFC\u2019s Climate Business unit in his country and discussing\u00a0how emerging countries can\u00a0democratise\u00a0green buildings through\u00a0proptech.<\/p>\n PropertyGuru Property Report digital editor Gynen Kyra Toriano writes about\u00a0the World Bank Group\u2019s\u00a0insights and initiatives via the IFC to push green financing and certification,\u00a0PropertyGuru Group CEO\u00a0Hari V.
