As reported on VN Express,\u00a0Vietnam\u2019s Tourism Advisory Board\u00a0suggested trying out green travel passes to allow fully vaccinated tourists or those recovering from COVID-19 to travel with ease around the country.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vietnam Green Travel Pass is a digital app that tracks test results, COVID-19 recovery, and vaccine certificates, in order to create conditions for people to conveniently travel within the country and help restore tourism and economic activities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The travel pass would be issued to fully vaccinated individuals, COVID-19 patients with recovery certificates, as well as those who have been tested negative within the previous 72 hours.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoang Nhan Chinh, chief general secretary of Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board, said that many countries have launched digital travel passes that allow residents to use\u00a0their\u00a0vaccination certificates for\u00a0domestic\u00a0activities\u00a0and travelling.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the process of testing out the green travel pass, the government should also\u00a0prioritise\u00a0negotiations of mutual recognition agreements with ASEAN countries, EU nations, and International Air Transport Association\u2019s Travel Pass.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tourism experts do not expect Vietnam to consider opening borders to foreign tourists until at least 2022.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The country closed its borders and cancelled all international flights since March last year,\u00a0with the exception of\u00a0certain categories of visitors following strict quarantine requirements.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most localities across the country imposed strict lockdowns and suspended tourism activities to manage the Delta variant.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So far, Vietnam has vaccinated around 20 million residents, and more than 2.16 million people have been fully vaccinated.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
