As reported in Laotian Times<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>the Dong Hua Sao National Bio-Diversity Conservation Area and the Xe Pian National Bio-Diversity Conservation Area in Champasack provinces are planned to be developed as eco-tourism sites by the government, as part of efforts to promote sustainable tourism.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The plan was discussed in\u00a0Champasack\u00a0Province at a meeting between Vice President of the National Assembly,\u00a0Sommad\u00a0Pholsena,\u00a0the Governor of\u00a0Champasack\u00a0province, Dr.\u00a0Vilayvong\u00a0Bouddakham, and a representative from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Laos.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with reviewing plans for the two sites, ways to best rehabilitate and develop the areas were also talked through.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Insights were given by The Republic of Korea, which will be helpful in the development of the two national parks. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr.\u00a0Sommad\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cThis meeting is\u00a0an important step\u00a0in allowing technical experts and others involved to voice their opinions on the protection of biodiversity in both national parks to the benefit of socio-economic development and generate revenue for the country and local communities, in addition to conservation efforts.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSustainable tourism (eco-tourism), together with stable and sustainable forms of conservation, is important for every country in the world,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The development of these two parks is part of the National Green Growth Strategy, which aims to ensure that development remains sustainable. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
