It’s official, these are the best projects and property developers in the country!<\/p>\n

Some 250 of Myanmar\u2019s top real estate executives and industry leaders celebrated the achievements of the country\u2019s best developers, developments and design firms as they gathered at Yangon\u2019s prestigious Sule Shangri-La hotel\u00a0this evening for the first annual Myanmar Property Awards 2015.<\/p>\n

Free, fair and transparent, the Myanmar Property Awards are part of the decade-old Asia Property Awards, the biggest, most recognised and most respected real estate awards programme in the region. The exclusive black-tie gala dinner and awards ceremony was the result of a detailed six-month nomination process and comprehensive site visit period, conducted by an independent panel of judges.<\/p>\n

The evening\u2019s top honour \u2013 Best Developer \u2013 went to Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd, while Naing Group Capital Co Ltd and Green Vision Co Ltd collected Highly Commended accolades in the category. Yoma also picked up the Best Landscape Architecture Design trophy for Star City Thanlyin, as well as two Highly Commended certificates for the residential categories for Galaxy Towers at Star City.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very proud to receive this award since we faced outstanding developers who were also in the running for this honour,\u201d said Cyrus Pun, head of real estate and executive director of Yoma Strategic Holdings. \u201cIt\u2019s an exciting time for the Myanmar property market, especially in the last few years. We\u2019ve been in the industry for a long time and we\u2019re glad that the time has come for Myanmar property to be recognised in this way. We thank Ensign Media and we believe they should continue giving out these awards for many years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other big winners of the evening included Shangri-La Yangon Company Ltd, recipient of the Best Residential Interior Design and Best Residential Development (Myanmar) trophies for the Shangri-La Serviced Apartments. Myint & Associate Co. Ltd., which bagged the Best Office Development and Best Office Architectural Design awards, was also presented with the Best Commercial Development (Myanmar) accolade for the Vantage Tower development on Yangon\u2019s iconic Pyay Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe developments rewarded here tonight represent the finest current projects in the country in our first year in Myanmar,\u201d said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media, awards organiser and publisher of Asia\u2019s industry leading\u00a0Property Report<\/i>\u00a0magazine. \u201cThis year\u2019s Winners and Highly Commended developments have put Myanmar on the real estate map.\u201d<\/p>\n

The top winners in Myanmar will be showcased on the regional stage and compete with other domestic winners at the South East Asia Property Awards grand finale, which will be held at Singapore\u2019s Shangri-La Hotel on 21 October 2015. The region\u2019s biggest real estate event will be preceded by the first-ever Property Report Congress.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Awards are well-respected and established in other markets, the Winners should receive strong recognition throughout the region, and through such recognition, they will be able to build their brand as market leaders within the Myanmar real estate industry,\u201d said Richard Emerson of Savills Myanmar, chairman of the panel of judges.\u00a0\u201cIt will also help to differentiate the better quality projects at a local level, which should add to increased credibility and trust from a buyer or occupier\u2019s perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the awards categories, a special recognition was given to Dr. Stephen Suen, founding chairman of the Marga Group of companies. Suen was named Real Estate Personality of the Year by the editors of\u00a0Property Report<\/i>\u00a0for his recent contributions to the industry, namely being the driving force behind the ambitious Dagon City 1 project in Yangon.<\/p>\n

The event was co-sponsored by gold sponsors Ariston and Mitsubishi Electric, and silver sponsor TEKA, and top regional and local media organisations, including\u00a0Myanmar Times<\/i>,\u00a0Mizzima News,<\/i>\u00a0The Irrawaddy<\/i>,\u00a0Crossroads<\/i>,\u00a0Myanmar Banking & Finance Magazine<\/i>, House.com.mm and iMyanmarHouse.com, supported the Awards in addition to local partner MDL Company, and two of the country\u2019s leading business associations, the Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar.<\/p>\n
